Does eating chocolate ease menstrual cramps? If so, where can I find statistical data?
Actually, yes, but maybe not to a degree that would give total relief. Studies have shown that (esp. for women) eating chocolate causes a release of a substance call endorphines from the brain. Endorphines are a type of natural morphine. Some people have more of this in their bodies than others. Runners seem to elicit an endorphine response when they run, especially those "obsessed" with running. That's how they can run for long distances whereas, if I tried to run across the room I would collapse in agony! Go to webmd.com to find out more.
