Plymouth Neon sucks at accelerating?

Alright, so I realize that I do have a Plymouth Neon (aka: worst cars for maintenance), but what has been happening is over time I feel like my car is dragging. When I slow down to stop at a red light, I don't even have to use my breaks anymore because my car will just stop by itself. It sort of feels as if my emergency break is on, but it surely is not. It also won't accelerate, I found myself beet red as cars zipped past me shooting dirty looks while I could only go 60 in a 90 zone. I checked the oil and the transmission fuel, both are fine. This car is my baby! Help? :(
