How can I find out what kind of sound card I have?

I need to download a driver for my sound card so it will work. I don't have the cd for it and I don't know what kind of sound card I have. The device manager shows I have a multimedia controller but thats all. Any ideas? I think it may be a sound blaster, but I tried downloading a couple of drivers and it said it couldn't continue cause it couldn't find a soundblaster.
