My rugburn on my face went away and reappeared as darkened skin-any suggestions?

I fell at a party and got rugburn on top and under my eye area. After about a few days it started clearing up and went away. I did use neosporin and other things like aloe vera gel. Now it just looks dark and i thought at first it might be some dead skin but i tried scrubbing it clean and it stayed dark. This is not a bruise its on the surface. I went out and bought maderma i dont know if it would help but if anybody has any ideas please send them my way. thanks
