Should I go with my best friend to prom?

Okay, so prom is coming up and I would really like to go. I have a lot of friends that are going, but they all have dates. I want the night to be really fun so of course I want to have a date. Do you think I should go with my best guy friend? We went to the Sadie Hawkins Dance together and had a great time. I have a lot of fun with him and he is really nice and funny. The only thing is, he has liked me since like 8th grade and I just like him as a friend. Should we go as friends, or a date?
