So I've enlisted, should i worry about my high school grades?

So i enlisted into the dep program and i hav all these ap college cles and i planned to go to college and stuff but that didn't work out. i want to know how my grades will effect my getting an education on base in the military. my dad says they still look at your transcripts and the colleges on base have to accept you but my naval science instructor (im in njrotc) says its more of a you just walk in say you wanna take some cles and you take them sort of thing. so which brings me to the question, can i forget about all my other cles besides the ones i need to graduate?
